Soil water dynamics in drained and undrained meadows

چکیده

Tile drainage belongs to one of the most important meliorative measures in Czech Republic. It has been hypothesised that it may improve some soil properties which are influenced by groundwater and their water regime. In case meadows, used management method also influence properties. this study, different physical (particle bulk density, total porosity, maximum capillary capacity, minimum air retention capacity saturated content, volumetric content matric potential) at depths 15, 35 or 40 60 cm differently managed meadows (drained versus undrained) located near village Železnå Republic (mildly cold, humid climatic region) were investigated. The drained meadow is mainly for grazing (extensively) undrained mown twice a year. addition, actual evapotranspiration was estimated 2018 vegetation season. selected significantly (P < 0.05) between experimental especially 0-28 0-35 content) 28-49 35-45 content). all studied depths, potential years 2016-2019. meadows. obtained differences measured probably tile type meadow. necessary obtain more research findings with respect types understand role both treatments (tile drainage, management).

Transfer of Escherichia coli to water from drained and undrained grassland after grazing.

The aim of this study was to determine the load of Escherichia coli transferred via drainage waters from drained and undrained pasture following a grazing period. Higher concentrations (ranging between 10(4) and 10(3) colony forming units [CFU] g(-1)) of E. coli persisted in soil for up to 60 d beyond the point where cattle were removed from the plots, but these eventually declined in the early...

drained and undrained sand behaviour by multilaminate bounding surface model

the present paper is devoted to a new critical state based plasticity model able to predict drained and undrained behaviour of granular material. it incorporates a bounding surface plasticity model describing in multilaminate framework to capitalize on advantages of this mathematical framework. most of the models developed using stress/strain invariants are not capable of identifying the parame...

Compositional and functional stability of aerobic methane consuming communities in drained and rewetted peat meadows.

The restoration of peatlands is an important strategy to counteract subsidence and loss of biodiversity. However, responses of important microbial soil processes are poorly understood. We assessed functioning, diversity and spatial organization of methanotrophic communities in drained and rewetted peat meadows with different water table management and agricultural practice. Results show that th...
